Great par four to set up the finish. Long par four framed by hanging trees in multiple sections of the fairway. The large tree on the left side of the fairway is intimidating to carry, visually creating a smaller landing area for the player. The two trees long left of the fairway can block out shots into the green if too far left off the tee. A fairway bunker along the right side of the hole can be reached with a heavy drive off the tee. The green is large and receptive to most approaches as the apron is wide and inviting. The green is guarded by a single greenside bunker short left of the green and large ridge to the right of the putting surface.

Long par five to cap off this Fazio design. Numerous bunkers line the left side of the fairway while the meandering creek runs along the right before cutting across the fairway. The lay up is guarded by the creek meandering across to the left side of the fairway along with two bunkers pinching the fairway in as you get closer to the green. The third shot into the green is guarded by the creek on the left side, large bunker on the right and a steep slope on the back of this green. Shots can use this slope to trickle back onto the surface or create a tender chip down the hill.

If eighteen wasn’t enough, a nineteenth hole is awaiting your group to settle any bets. The “Hog Hole” plays all over water and surely will help resolve any wagers. It can be played from any of five tee boxes ranging from eighty to two hundred yards. The large green is guarded by the pond left and the greenside bunker flanked to the right, paired with a large slope making it challenging to access the back tier of this green. A memorable finish for a wonderful Tom Fazio design.

Bright’s Creek opens with a long dog leg left par five. A slight draw off the tee is preferred, placing you in a generous fairway guarded by bunkers up the right side. A natural rock formation frames your difficult layup protected by two fairway bunkers. A large green angled by a massive bunker on the front and a huge boulder in the back presents a picturesque approach playing slightly uphill. Keeping the ball below the hole is crucial.

The second hole is a long dog leg right par four with three fairway bunkers intended to promote a slight fade off the tee. Once placed in the fairway, a slight downhill approach guarded by a greenside bunker and a massive tree requires a precise entry to this wide, but shallow green. A large spine cuts through this green making accuracy and distance control important to escape with a par.

One of the best views on the course gazing into the mountains in the distance, this long par three rounds out a challenging start to Bright’s Creek. This large green is protected by a long and deep bunker on the right side and a large ridge along the left side making a precise tee shot important. The green tilts heavily from back to front and left to right making a two-putt exciting to say the least.

Most players will take a sigh of relief as number four is an attractive and scoreable hole. Shorter in length and generous off the tee, a tee ball up the left side gives the player a great angle into this triple tiered green. The fairway tilts from left to right and is guarded by a bunker up the left side and a penalty area along the right. The green has three distinct sections and is guarded by a large ridge along the left side and a deep bunker on the right. Shots coming in from the left side will funnel toward the middle of the green setting up an enjoyable putting surface.

Number five is a short par five that plays down hill off the tee and then drastically up into the green. The tee shot is heavily guarded by two bunkers on the left and a bunker along the right paired with a running stream up the entire hole. The layup requires a solidly struck ball favoring the left side to avoid the deep fairway bunkers along the right side of the layup area. The uphill approach on five plays much longer than the number and is protected by 3 greenside bunkers short of the green. A massive false front will swallow any shots with too much spin funneling down into a challenging collection area. This large green has 3 distinct undulating sections requiring finesse and imagination to escape with a two putt.

Number six is a wonderful par three with a downhill tee shot framed by the ridge-line in the distance. This long par 3 is guarded by a large bunker short and left of the green and a large ridge throughout the putting surface. Shots right of the green may funnel onto the surface with a generous bounce. The sections of this sloped and challenging green are divided by a distinct spine making two putts an adventure to any pin.

This flowing par four will challenge and entertain golfers of all abilities. The tee shot is a forced carry over a long gorge once used as a stagecoach road. The hole has a slight bend from right to left framed by bunkers on the right side and left side of the fairway. The fairway gently slopes from right to left making the approach into this heavily guarded green complex, as it is shaped to receive a fade versus a draw. The green is angled to protect the approach from the right as it has a massive bunker guarding the ride side of the green and a deep bunker protecting the front left side. You can hear the creek running behind the green hidden by the dense foliage. The green has a large spine on the right dividing the surface area into three distinct sections making distance control to be important.

This generous par four is welcoming off the tee and straight away. The fairway is guarded by 3 bunkers, two of which are on the right and one large bunker on the left. The approach will most likely be on the downslope of the fairway into a moderately sized green guarded by a bunker short left and right of the green. The mouth of the green has a welcoming apron to accept any shots running up onto the surface. This green is relatively mild, pitched gently from back to front and is an opportunity to make a putt.

Number nine is a long and tough hole, the #1 handicap at Bright’s Creek. The downhill tee shot is to a very generous landing area guarded by two fairway bunkers on the right side of the fairway. The approach then goes back up the hill to a multi-tiered green protected by the bunkers short and right of the green. Long and left of this green is a quick way to make a bogey or worse. This green has a large slope dividing the green in three sections, all of which incorporate a lot of slope and speed. Paramount to keep the ball below the hole and play conservatively

The back nine starts with this gorgeous par four. The tee shot is drastically down hill framed by three fairway bunkers, all of which create a mirage of a small landing area but is in fact a welcoming fairway from all tees. The approach is over a flowing and consistent stream which demands a solidly struck shot to carry over the water. The green complex has a deep bunker at the front left corner and a large bunker along the right side of the green. This surface has a large ridge that cuts this green into three sections all of which provide breaking putts with speed being a point of emphasis. The large slope behind and left of this green can be used to funnel shots back onto the green or quickly complicate your chip onto this undulating complex.

This short uphill par four has plenty of bite if you’re not careful. The tee shot is guarded by three bunkers, two on the right and one on the left, all of which will complicate your approach into this densely sloped green. The stream that ran through ten runs along the right side of this hole creating a rhythmic and enticing ambiance. The approach shot plays a full club uphill to a green full smothered by trouble. The green has two deep bunkers short of the green sure to swallow and poorly struck approaches and a false front which will gradually roll soft approaches down into a challenging collection area. The green has a large bowl on the front right section of the green providing an easy pin to use the ridge behind the pin to funnel shots into a premiere putting location. The Ridge also complicates putting to back and left pin locations.

Another beautiful hole running along the stream down the right side of this long par four. The tee shot is downhill to a left to right sloping fairway guarded by long grass along the left and a fairway bunker paired with the creek on the right. The approach plays uphill to a large green with bunkers short left and to the right of this larger green. The false front on this uphill par four requires enough club to avoid your approach running back down into the collection area short of the green. The slope on the left side of this green can funnel shots left of target to the putting surface or can create a difficult chip running quickly away from you. Two putts are always welcomed on this challenging par four.

Thirteen is a mild downhill par three with two bunkers, one short left and one long left, making the left pin locations challenging to access. The green is deep from front to back and has a massive ridge on the right side of the green used to funnel shots toward or away the pin depending on location. A closely mown collection area right of the green can be a difficult up and down if not respected.  Many factors on this par 3 make par is a great score here.

Fourteen is a risk reward double dogleg par five with challenges at every corner paired with riches if you’re bold. The tee shot requires a slight bend from left to right as bunkers frame the left side of this welcoming fairway and the creek from previous holes tumbles down the right side before crossing the fairway at the two-twenty-five mark. The layup or second shot is guarded by overhanging trees down the left, the crossing stream, and a fairway bunker fifty yards short of the green. This layup is one to be respected played carefully as a shot into the left side of fairway gives a wonderful angle but can create havoc if loosely approached. The green is renowned as one of the most undulating on the course with a steep false front, massive spine, and a deep greenside bunker to the left of the green. The lively spine creates confusion and demands execution for all chips and putts around the surface. Keeping your approach below the hole is a must here if you want a stress free two putt.

This straight and long par four sets the player up for a fantastic finish. The fairway is wide and inviting paired with two bunkers down the left side. The approach is slightly uphill with a large welcoming complex. The false front and front bunkers to the left and right, force the player to be accurate and dialed with their distance control. The green is relatively flat besides a cunning slope that guards the back right section of the putting surface. This slope can be used to one’s advantage with funneling a chip or approach toward a back middle pin location.

This downhill par 3 is secluded in a nook proving difficult to judge the wind. The green is supported by a large rock wall left of the green with a steep drop off near a rolling stream. The complex has two bunkers short left of the green, one in the back left and one to the right side. A large ridge runs along the back right corner making a tough pin to access from the tee or from around the green.
