General Manager’s Scorecard
We are getting excited about our Amenity Center opening in 2023. This addition to our club experience will feature a saltwater pool, a two-lane bowling alley, a fitness center, and dining options for our Members and their guests. We look forward to adding programming and opportunities for Members to gather in addition to the physical facility.
Work on the exterior of the building continues, and we anticipate power being delivered to the building within the week. Interior finishes are in process, and once the kitchen hood system is installed in the pool house, the roof can be finished.
Our golf maintenance team continues to work diligently to maintain conditions on our championship-level, Tom Fazio-designed course. During the summer, their focus is on day-to-day maintenance and watering. As the weather changes, they can focus on projects and preparing the course for next spring. As the Bermuda goes dormant, our herbicide program changes to target annual bluegrass that has already started to germinate. We use the quieter late fall and winter months to complete projects such as tree work, irrigation, and drainage and address areas of the course needing some additional attention.
We are constantly evaluating how we communicate with our Members. One of our next steps is to evaluate our mobile app. As we move into 2023, we will be dedicating additional time to the app and evaluating how to improve its effectiveness.
Regards and thank you,
Steve Alden | General Manager

Frost is a common topic of discussion in the golf world as we move through fall into the winter. When we have frost, it delays starting times as the Turfcare team is delayed to when they can do their work on the course and with the surface being safe to step on and play off. Frost is basically when the temperatures get low enough the water inside the capillaries of the grass freezes. When this occurs, you see the frosty snowy looking presentation of the grass. The reason you should never play or step on frosted turf is that the act of crushing the frozen capillaries kills the grass and will prevent growth in that area for the foreseeable future. |
