General Manager’s Scorecard
Starting September 6th, the golf maintenance team will begin aerification on the greens with 3/8” hollow coring tines. Green aerification is vital to the health of the turf and, despite the short-term impact on playing conditions, is a necessary part of our agronomy program. This process dilutes organic matter in the soil, reduces compaction, and improves water and air infiltration. The greens surface will be impacted for about three weeks while the turf recovers from the disruption. Growth rates are much higher now than in the spring, so recovery is much shorter this time of year. The greens have held up well this summer, and fall is just a few weeks away.
Special thanks to Paul Beam, Course Superintendent, and his entire team for working hard over the summer to keep the course in excellent shape.
The golf shop and range will be open for our normal hours on Wednesday, September 7th, and Thursday, September 8th. We will offer preferred Member guest fees during the recovery period for the aerification. Please contact the golf shop for additional details and information. The Water Wheel will maintain its normal operating hours during this time.
Starting the week of September 12th, we will be expanding our dining and golf hours. We will re-open for Tuesday golf and lunch starting on September 13th. We will open for Wednesday night dining on September 14th and starting this Sunday the Water Wheel will be open until 5:00 pm. We hope to see our Members more often during the beautiful fall months. These additional hours will run through at least the end of October. We constantly evaluate our hours of operation based on the needs and usage of our membership.
Sheetrock work continues in the main Amenity Center building and the roof sheathing should go on the pool house sometime this week. Our pool contractor is on site and has nearly completed the initial excavation for the pool.
